August's Encore: Werewolf — Your Gaslamp Go-To!

June 10, 2026

August. What a month. The sun beat down, the Gaslamp buzzed, and here at Werewolf American Pub, the good times just kept rolling. We saw old friends, welcomed new faces, and if the reviews are anything to go by, you all had a blast. And frankly? So did we.

From the get-go, our brunch crew was out in force. T. Brewster, a true Werewolf convert, chronicled a week-long culinary odyssey. Apparently, our fluffy pancakes lived up to their name – delicate, delicious, and available in every iteration a pancake-lover could dream of. And the Breakfast Burrito? A solid 5 stars. But it wasn't just the food; it was the warmth. "Attentive staff who take a few minutes no matter how busy to introduce themselves and welcome you," T. Brewster wrote. That’s the Werewolf spirit right there.

Speaking of spirit, a huge shout-out to our team. John, Chris, Hannah, Sailor, and all the incredible folks running the floor – you're truly the best. T. Brewster specifically called out John, and let’s just say that wasn’t the only time his name popped up. SP, another loyal August visitor, raved, "Not only did John remember me and my friend (and his gluten-allergy) on our 2nd visit, but they have the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had in my life." Best Eggs Benedict ever? That's high praise. And it proves that a little personal touch goes a long way, especially when you’re looking for the best brunch in San Diego.

Now, about those Eggs Benedict. While some, like Ebru, bravely ventured into the cheesy chive scramble (which, we admit, might have been a tad too familiar if you're a hotel breakfast connoisseur) — her tablemates were all-in on the pork belly Benedict. That's the beauty of our menu; there’s something for everyone, whether you’re hunting the best breakfast San Diego can offer or just a really good plate of crispy potatoes (we hear you, Ebru, we’re always aiming to impress!).

And let’s not forget the vibe. Rob, who brought his two small (but mighty!) pups, loved that we’re dog-friendly. Even if the DJ’s jams (yes, an actual DJ even in the morning!) were a bit loud for the canine crew, he appreciated the accommodating staff and the relaxed pace. And Zachary Smith? Perfectly summed up our eclectic atmosphere: "Some employee working the music put on 'Sell Out' by Reel Big Fish and then, like, 20 seconds later, someone killed the music. Perfect, no notes." That's us in a nutshell: a little quirky, always fun, and never taking ourselves too seriously.

So, whether you're searching for bars in the Gaslamp District for a killer happy hour, curious about the best karaoke San Diego has to offer, or just craving the most delicious brunch downtown San Diego has to offer, Werewolf American Pub is your spot. Come on down to 627 4th Ave. Jasmine and Larry are waiting, and our whole team is ready to make your next visit another five-star memory. See you soon!
